Tenant Statement: I do my best create pockets of calm in my apartment. And then when I’m going to go outside, I have to mentally prepare myself for whatever’s going to be outside that door and know that it’s not the oasis I have in here. And that’s okay because that’s the outside world and I can’t control it. I try my best to do the things I know make me feel good, and stable, and grounded. I attempt to remind myself that I’m not going to let the landlord, who is simply trying to ensure that the units are paid, make him bigger that what he is.
